The Alice Salomon Archive documents the history of social work, education in the field and key figures. In 2022 and 2024, BiblioCopy digitised a range of historic materials in accordance with the standards of the German Digital Women's Archive (DDF).
Project period
2022 and 2024
Collections
Records, photographs, glass plates and card indexes
Services
Scan, metadata, ALTO-OCR
Varied archival collections from a single provider
- Digitisation of a historical personnel file including metadata creation and ALTO-OCR
- Digitisation of historical files, photographs and glass plates
- Digitisation of the pupil card index of the Verein Jugendheim Charlottenburg
- Digitisation of historical photographs and postcards
The different originals require tailored capture methods and precise quality control. Consistent metadata then ensures that the digital copies can be found and reused reliably in the DDF context.
Preparation in line with DDF standards
The DDF requirements combine technical quality with consistent cataloguing. This allows unique sources on the history of education, the women's movement and social work to be preserved for the long term and made accessible digitally.
